Independent dealers mitigate the risk of solo test drives in partnership with Tracker

The IMDA champions best practice as it strengthens its supplier network

Tracker, has joined forces with the Independent Motor Dealers Association (IMDA) to give dealers peace-of-mind they can offer unaccompanied test drives and keep their customers and stock protected at the same time.  Low-cost asset tracking with one year free subscription is being offered exclusively to independent dealers as a result of the new collaboration.
Whilst social distancing practices may be easing, many people remain cautious, particularly as concern rises around the Delta variant spreading. Offering solo test drives help overcome these fears, however, leaves dealers vulnerable to the very real risk of vehicles being driven off the forecourt, never to be seen again without a single financial transaction taking place.

How is the IMDA Tracker partnership going to help?

The IMDA’s partnership with Tracker now enables independent dealers to conduct business as usual,  by bringing its members a discreet self-install, self-powered device which allows dealers to offer unaccompanied test drives with confidence, monitoring where vehicles are during the test drive and  alerting dealers if the vehicle goes outside a specified area.

Tracker’s GPS solution can be quickly fitted, without any technical knowledge, and be moved between cars or left in the vehicle permanently for 24/7 protection.  Battery powered, the Tracker device can be recharged via USB or 12v socket.  Key benefits include access to a web user interface to monitor the vehicle’s location, and reporting capabilities such as journey direction, road speed limits and route taken.

Furthermore, in the event of a vehicle being stolen, the device can help police successfully locate and recover the vehicle.  Tracker boasts an unrivalled position as the only SVR expert to have its systems embedded into all police forces throughout the UK.

Mark Rose, Managing Director for Tracker comments, “Our partnership with the IMDA is an important arsenal in our mission to support independent dealers across the UK, safeguarding their customers and their stock.  We are thrilled to be joining the trusted network of the IMDA, rubber stamping our commitment to ensuring their profits and reputations are protected. And we are excited to be bringing our market leading stolen vehicle recovery and connected solutions to them at exclusive rates, supported by a team of experts dedicated to their needs.”
