Insurers benefit from providing valuable protection to new customers whilst abiding by social distancing guidelines

Tracker, a leader in the provision of telematics and usage-based insurance (UBI), is enabling insurers and brokers to safeguard young drivers with its self-install telematics and tracking technology.  By removing the requirement for a device to be installed professionally, insurers can actively encourage responsible driving amongst policyholders and protect vehicles, whilst abiding by social distancing guidelines.

Earlier this year Tracker announced the integration of SmartDriverClub’s (SDC) driver behaviour, risk scoring and data analytics to extend its end-to-end insurance telematics offerings, which have been implemented across the UK and internationally for more than 12 years. By combining its telematics capabilities with the insurance knowledge, experience, relationships and systems of SDC, Tracker is today delivering even greater intelligent car services.

The launch of its self-install solution – which includes an insurer branded consumer smartphone application and web portal - demonstrates Tracker’s agility and capability of addressing changes that challenge the insurance landscape.

Working with SmartDriverClub Insurance allows Tracker to offer multiple routes to market, from a custom product build, with the advantage of the UK’s most experienced telematics TPA, to simply adding a scheme to their existing panel to gain insight and exposure to the telematics market.

Mark Rose, Managing Director of Tracker explains: “We work closely with many insurance providers and brokers in the industry who have employed our telematics and tracking technology because of the very clear benefits they bring in promoting safer driving amongst young motorists.  Our market leading driver score algorithms, risk management reporting and engaging consumer applications have a proven track record of reducing insurer and broker loss ratios.

“The introduction of SDC’s self-install solution means that insurers can continue to offer new customers this peace of mind, without calling upon professional engineers to carry out the installation or flouting social distancing guidelines. And, given SDC’s streamlined onboarding process, it can take as little as two weeks to set new insurers up with a full-service offering, including data analytics, policy management and customer activation support.”
