CALAMP’S Tracker U.K. APPOINTS MARK ROSE AS MANAGING DIRECTOR

AS CONTINUED INVESTMENT IN THE U.K. SEES NEW INNOVATION SHAPE THE FUTURE

Experienced automotive services leader drives Tracker’s pivot to SaaS-based telematics solution and extends U.K. market reach

LONDON, U.K. – September 9, 2019 – CalAmp (Nasdaq: CAMP), technology solutions pioneer transforming the mobile connected economy, today announced that its stolen vehicle recovery (SVR) and innovative automotive services provider, Tracker, has appointed Mark Rose as managing director. This appointment coincides with Tracker’s 25th anniversary and confirms its intention to retain its market leading position by delivering new software and subscription telematics services supported by the technologies and solutions of its parent company, CalAmp.

Rose brings a wealth of experience from the automotive, telecom and IoT sectors, with recent experience at Vodafone Automotive as global business development lead. His knowledge of strategy, sales and leadership will help the Tracker team pivot to software-as-a-service (SaaS)-based, connected car subscription services as it looks to expand the company’s penetration into OEM, dealer, and rental and leasing markets in the U.K. The new services will deliver compelling features for end-users and drive sell-through, creating long-term value for channel partners.

Rose’s move to Tracker will help bolster the business’s enviable history, brand and reputation within the marketplace with his proven record of deal-making, closing multi-million pound contracts with large multinationals and driving growth through sustainable partner programmes.

Tracker’s recent partnership engagements include Arnold Clark, Europe’s largest independently owned car retailer and Oxford Products, a leading global supplier of motorcycle and bicycle aftermarket products, whose customers value Tracker’s reliable and high-quality services. They join Tracker’s portfolio of long-standing but continually evolving partnerships, including Bailey of Bristol, one of U.K.’s largest manufacturer of leisure vehicles, as well as the National Farmers Union (NFU).

“I am very much looking forward to leading Tracker’s efforts in working with ambitious companies that recognise the value of partnering with Tracker to enhance the customers’ experience,” says Mark Rose. “In addition to building upon existing relationships and growing Tracker’s enviable portfolio of partners, my key objective is to develop shared global innovation from CalAmp, LoJack Italia, LoJack Mexico and Tracker to enhance our combined growing suite of automotive and SaaS-based telematics solutions. The recent launch of Tracker’s SmartDealer and SmartDrive in the U.K. motor retail arena are great examples of how we can work together to deliver connected vehicle and asset tracking solutions.”

“It’s an exciting time for Mark to be joining Tracker with support from CalAmp’s expertise in telematics,” Justin Schmid, senior vice president and general manager of LoJack international operations for CalAmp. “We have many new connected mobility solutions planned for the coming months, and with Mark’s excellent leadership and relationship building skills, we are confident he will extend Tracker’s success with additional target markets and solutions.”

“The Tracker and LoJack Mexico acquisition earlier this year affirmed CalAmp’s investment in Europe, Latin America and broader international expansion for the long term, and we see Mark as a key player to take Tracker’s already strong SVR and telematics position in the U.K. to a new level.  We will be expanding the markets in which we deliver the benefits of our shared learning, experience and platforms with the ultimate aim of creating a connected mobile world that offers true peace of mind to consumers and businesses alike,” Schmid concluded.
