Once, electric cars were things of fantasy – then they became something niche that only a handful of drivers could realistically (and reliably) use. It’s a win for motorists’ bank accounts too, as electric vehicles benefit from substantial tax reductions and electric car insurance is significantly lower than fuel-powered vehicles.
With the developments of electric vehicles over the last 10 years, consumer demand for electric cars has been driven right up. When particular vehicles are in demand, criminals respond by targeting them, oftentimes 'stealing-to-order', but also just because they can. Electric vehicles make for quiet getaway cars, so thieves can bypass security protocols in minutes and drive the vehicle away potentially completely undetected.
If you don't have a tracker, it's highly unlikely that you will ever see your car again in the event of theft. The cost of an insurance claim is about more than just money, but your precious time, your stolen personal belongings and your lifestyle. If you can avoid all of that and either avoid theft altogether or get your car back asap, this is priceless.
