UK’s Car Theft Hot Spots

The latest data analysis from stolen vehicle recovery expert, Tracker, reveals that once again more cars were stolen and recovered in London than any other region across the UK in 2020. However, the West Midlands and Greater Manchester move up the league table to second and third position respectively, ousting Essex from second to fourth position. Analysis also reports another annual increase in keyless car thefts, now standing at an all-time high of 93%.

Caravan Worth £16,000 Recovered In Less Than Three Hours

A Swift Challenger SE caravan worth over £16,000 was stolen from a farm in Staffordshire overnight, where it had been stored for just four weeks. Once Tracker was alerted to the theft, the tracking unit was activated, which enabled the police to find the caravan in Stokenchurch, Buckinghamshire, in just two hours and 45 minutes. An arrest was made at the scene.

A Bailey Unicorn ‘Seville’ caravan worth £15,000, was stolen by thieves but recovered on the same day, thanks to the teamwork of stolen vehicle recovery (SVR) expert Tracker, Warwickshire police and VIN CHIP. Tracker Helps Police Recover £20,000 Caravan Stolen From Secure Site

On the night of 9th May 2020, thieves broke into a secure seasonal caravan site in Oxford and stole four caravans, including a £20,000 Sterling Caravan. Unbeknown to the thieves, the Sterling was fitted with a stolen vehicle recovery (SVR) device from Tracker, which the police employed to quickly locate and recover the valuable vehicle. Two suspects were arrested at the scene, where police also recovered two additional stolen trailers.
