Tracker warns drivers to let the technology be the hero rather than putting themselves at risk to protect their vehicles

Tracker Network UK Limited is advising caravan and motorhome owners to stay alert to the threat of thieves, who are seeking to cash-in on the demand for leisure vehicles. Last year a quarter of all motorhomes and caravans recovered by Tracker were stolen during the months of March and April, as people took their vehicles out of secure storage and got them road-ready in advance of the Easter bank holiday season.

With fleet vehicle sales accounting for more than half of new car registrations, the fleet sector has a significant responsibility in prioritising road safety, not only for its drivers but also other road users. The advice follows news of the case of Jo Coombs from Battersea, who used her car insurance GPS tracker and connected smartphone app to locate and claim her Land Rover after it had been stolen from outside her home*. Whilst in this case there was a happy ending, organised criminal gangs are notoriously dangerous and any confrontation should be avoided at all cost. Motorists who protect their vehicles with a Tracker SVR device will also benefit from road and air police support in the event of their car being stolen.
