Tracker Nano - Installation Guide

Before we get started please have the following information to hand:

  • Your Vehicle Registration
  • Tracker Device IMEI number - this is the 15 digit number which can be found on your device.
  • Broker Reference Number - Your broker reference should appear on the documentation sent by your Insurance Broker. If you are unable to locate it, please contact your broker directly.
  • Your Tracker Nano device is already powered up - all you need to do is register the device and install into your vehicle. (Follow the instructions below).

 

IMPORTANT: Please set up your device immediately, delay in installing your device may lead to the cancellation of your insurance policy.

Please DO NOT tamper or unwrap the device, unless instucted to do so, as this could damage the device and invalidate your policy.


Register your Tracker Nano:

  • Log on to www.tracker.co.uk/NanoRegistration to register your Tracker Nano.
  • Follow the instructions on the regisration portal to complete this process.
  • Once you have completed the registration process, you are now ready to install the Tracker Nano.

Install Your Tracker Nano device:

  • The Tracker Nano device is already powered up.
  • Once you have successfully registered your Tracker Nano, you are ready to install the device.

IMPORTANT Please read before you install your device

  • It is important to ensure the Tracker Nano device is installed and concealed safely and securely.
  • Please DO NOT install near vehicle radio or electrical equipment.
  • Please DO NOT install in an obvious or easy to find location e.g. Glove compartment.
  • Once you have selected a suitable location to install the Tracker Nano device, please make sure you thoroughly clean and degrease this area using the alcohol wipes supplied prior to applying the Velcro or adhesive pads.

Tracker Nano Device - Variant 1

If your Nano device looks like the one shown in this image please follow instrutions below:

  • The Nano device should be fitted to a flat, secure surface (away from vehicle radio or electrical equipment), and mounted safely with velcro or adhesive pads provided.
  • When installing the device please ensure the top of the device (the side which is wrapped, as shown in the image) is facing upwards so it can acquire a GPS signal.
 

Your Tracker Nano device is now set up and ready to start reporting!

Tracker Nano device - Variant 2

If your Nano device looks like the one shown in this image please follow instrutions below:

  • The Nano device should be fitted to a flat, secure surface (away from vehicle radio or electrical equipment), and mounted safely with velcro or adhesive pads provided.
  • When installing the device please ensure the top of the device (as shown in the image) is facing upwards so it can acquire a GPS signal.
 
 

Your Tracker Nano device is now set up and ready to start reporting!


Frequently Asked Questions: Setting up your Tracker Nano Device


  • Please follow the steps in the registration portal. At the end of the registration process you should see a confirmation letting you know you have successfully registered your device. This means the device is connected and reporting.

  • Your device is installed to help recover your vehicle in the event of theft, therefore, we do not share location data with customers.

  • Your broker reference should appear on the documentation sent by your Insurance Broker. If you are unable to locate it, please contact your broker directly.

  • 1. Call the police and report the theft
    2. Police will give you a crime ref. number
    3. Call Tracker 24HR Control Room on: 0800 911 900

    4. Contact your Insurance broker to notify them of the theft.


     

  • Global Positioning System (GPS) is a constellation of satellites providing location and time information anywhere where there is an unobstructed line of sight to four or more GPS satellites. Tracker device uses GPS in helping to locate vehicles.

  • GSM stands for Global System for Mobile Communications and is the standard used to describe technologies for digital cellular networks. Tracker uses GSM to communicate with the Tracker systems.

  • No. A major security feature of the system is that the presence of the Tracker system is not disclosed to the thief. In fact, identification stickers are an encouragement to thieves to damage the vehicle, as they may hurriedly attempt to locate the system. 

  • The device can only be installed in the vehicle covered by the Insurance policy.
