National Motor Museum ups the ante against theft

Thieves looking to acquire niche and classic motor vehicles look set to be outsmarted following a new partnership between Tracker Network (UK) Ltd, the stolen vehicle recovery (SVR) expert and the world-famous National Motor Museum, Beaulieu.  The National Motor Museum, which boasts one of the finest collections of cars, motorcycles and motoring memorabilia in the world - including nine iconic cars from the latest James Bond film, ‘No Time to Die’* - has provided Tracker with the ultimate endorsement; employing it to protect its valuable cars and motorcycles with the company’s leading edge technology.

Tracker’s unrivalled position as the only SVR expert to have its systems embedded into all police forces throughout the UK, initially sparked the interest of the team at the National Motor Museum.  Tracker detection units are fitted in over 2000 police patrol vehicles and throughout the national fleet of Police helicopters that comprise the National Police Air Service (NPAS).  However, it is Tracker’s ground-breaking SVR technology that secured the collaboration.

Tracker’s unique combination of VHF with GPS/GSM technology makes its devices resistant to GPS/GSM jamming.  This means a stolen vehicle remains visible to police at all times, including when it is hidden in an underground car park, lock up or shipping container heading to foreign shores.  The Tracker Mesh Network adds yet another layer of unparalleled security.  When a vehicle fitted with a Tracker unit passes another Tracker equipped vehicle that has been reported stolen, the Mesh Network listens and automatically sends a silent signal to Tracker’s Head Quarters and the police, providing the location of the stolen asset.

Doug Hill, Museum Manager & Chief Engineer, of the National Motor Museum is an avid motorbike enthusiast himself, of both modern and classic bikes.  He understands the vast amount of time and dedication that enthusiasts put into restoring and maintaining classic vehicles and was won over by the power of Tracker’s solutions after choosing to fit a Tracker SVR device on his most recently purchased pride and joy.

Doug explains, “At Beaulieu we have the ultimate privilege of being home to some of the most iconic examples of worldwide automotive design.  With that privilege comes the responsibility of protecting these priceless vehicles. Tracker’s police partnership combined with its unrivalled technology, gives us the ultimate peace of mind that we are truly safeguarding our collection.”

Clive Wain, Head of Police Liaison at Tracker says, “Classic cars are a lucrative market for organised crime gangs and professional thieves who steal to order. However, many of these older vehicles lack today’s inbuilt sophisticated security systems and identification marks, which makes them particularly vulnerable to theft.  Our solutions overcome these security weaknesses.

“The National Motor Museum holds numerous events at Beaulieu and across the UK each year, where the public enjoy seeing some of the country’s finest classic vehicles.  We’re really proud to be involved in helping protect these iconic vehicles, playing our part in keeping the best of British automotive history safe when on the road, and secure when at home at the National Motor Museum.”
