Tracking technology has aided the recovery of a top-of-the-range Aston Martin in Bath, reports home.bt.com
The owner of an Aston Martin Rapide saw his car being driven away from his house in the town's Weston Park area at around 1:50am today (April 23).
Thankfully the owner took the precaution of fitting a tracking device to his vehicle in case local thieves decided to target such a valuable asset.
After its details had been handed over, Avon and Somerset Police deployed a team of petrol cars and a police helicopter to follow the vehicle along the A36 towards Limpley Stoke and back to Bath.
A statement at avonandsomerset.police.uk says the Aston Martin was eventually found abandoned in Darlington Place just 40 minutes after it had disappeared. It was later delivered back to its rightful owner.
Officers have already began their search for the culprits and it's thought that three men, aged 23, 34 and 46, were arrested in the Sydney Wharf area of Bath straight after the incident had happened.
A statement from Avon and Somerset Police says all three are being questioned on suspicion of the theft of the car and an additional charge for burglary, as the homeowner also found that his property had been broken into.
