Tracker, Trains and Automobiles
Date: 07 February 2013
The latest series of BBC Two’s Top Gear will feature fleet tracking expert, TRACKER, as the boys undertake another hair-raising challenge across the globe. The challenge involves Richard Hammond and James May pitting the speed of the train against Clarkson’s driving prowess in a race from London to Milan. As usual, the race is not as one-sided as it may first seem and so the boys need all the help they can get, tracking Jeremy via satellite tracking technology from TRACKER.
The Top Gear team utilised the technology from TRACKER’s next generation fleet telematics solution, TRACKER Fleet, which offers businesses the control and information they need to drive up efficiency and driver safety, while reducing costs. Knowing where a vehicle is at any point in time can be instrumental in running a successful fleet of vehicles.
Stephen Doran, Managing Director of TRACKER, says, “Using our award-winning technology, the Top Gear team could keep tabs on Jeremy, ensuring the race results could be verified. This was a fun use for TRACKER’s telematics technology, which monitors mileage, journey status, speed limits and provides vehicle and driver information. With detailed information at the click of a button, TRACKER helps customers reduce costs and improve fleet efficiency.”
Watch the action unfold on Top Gear on BBC2 on Sunday 10th February 2013.
