TRACKER staff get on their bikes for Sport Relief
Date: 23 March 2012
Come see the team cycle 400 virtual miles on turbo trainer bikes raising money for Sport Relief
Friday 23 March, TRACKER UK Offices, Uxbridge – 6am to 6pm
TRACKER staff are going all out for Sport Relief with a day of fun fundraising events, including a 400 mile ‘virtual cycle’ ride by the team dubbed the TRACKER Turbos. Six members of staff are donning Lycra cycling gear and saddling up for a ride that is the equivalent of pedalling from its headquarters in Uxbridge to Edinburgh. It's definitely not for the faint-hearted – but the TRACKER Turbos can do it!
The TRACKER Turbos will be on turbo trainer bikes, set up in reception at TRACKER's head office, allowing them to clock the miles without even leaving the building. Each team member will burn the equivalent of one cupcake's worth of calories, every two miles, so fairy cakes will be on sale to keep everyone in high spirits.
The TRACKER Sports & Social Committee will be on hand selling "Guilt Free" cupcakes in the staff room. This means people can purchase 200 cupcakes, safe in the knowledge that the Turbos are burning off the calories for them. The distance travelled and cupcakes earned by the team will be displayed on the plasma monitor in TRACKER's reception. There will also be buckets to collect donations throughout the day.
"We're looking forward to getting behind the TRACKER Turbos as they embark on this gruelling cycle ride," says Stephen Doran, Managing Director of TRACKER. "It's all in aid of Sport Relief, which is a fantastic cause and gives us all a chance to give something back. I'm sure the cupcakes will go down a storm, helping us raise funds for a serious cause in a fun and light-hearted way."
