TRACKER leads police to stolen caravan in under 4 hours
Date: 24 August 2016
TRACKER, the UK’s leading Stolen Vehicle Recovery (SVR) provider has assisted the police in the recovery of a brand new caravan worth £16,000. It was stolen from outside its owner’s house in West Bromwich in broad daylight. Mrs Hanson arrived home after work to find that the recently purchased Swift Sprite Freestyle S4 was missing. After alerting TRACKER and the police to the theft, the vehicle was located within just four hours.
“After years of caravanning in older caravans, this was the first time we had bought a brand new model and as you can probably appreciate, it was our pride and joy. The caravan came with the tracking device installed. It wouldn’t have actually occurred to us protect it in this way,” said Mrs Hanson, from West Bromwich. “We’re absolutely delighted that it did come with a TRACKER as I doubt we would have ever got our caravan back without it. The experience has taught us that we wouldn’t consider having a caravan without a device fitted in the future. We are even looking at getting one fitted to a classic car my husband is currently restoring.”
“Mrs Hanson’s story is not uncommon and serves as another reminder that owners should take precautions to protect their caravans,” said Steve Houghton, Police Liaison Manager at TRACKER. “While steering wheel locks and alarms are great preventative measures, an SVR device dramatically increases the chances of a caravan being found by the police and returned to its owner, and fast.”
“TRACKER’s technology uses a VHF meaning vehicles can be located even if they are underground, in garages or in shipping containers. TRACKER provides a greater level of protection to its customers, assisting the police on a daily basis in tackling vehicle theft head on.”
