'15' plate Corsa stolen weeks after delivery to customer
Date: 20 May 2015
Cresser, an independent Vauxhall dealer in Redditch, Worcestershire, delivered on its commitment to providing great customer care when a buyer had their brand new Corsa stolen just weeks after delivery. The award winning dealership had recommended that the customer should have a TRACKER stolen recovery unit (SVR) fitted to the ‘15’ plate Corsa as a precautionary measure. It was this foresight that meant the car was recovered within half an hour of it being stolen, to the great relief of its owner.
Nick Danks, Director at Cresser says, “As a family run dealer group, exemplary customer care in sales and aftersales is vital to strengthen long-term customer relations. Buying a new car is a major purchase for most people, so to then have it stolen within weeks of receiving it can be very upsetting. The case of Mrs Holder meant we have been able to provide an added level of protection and ensure the quick recovery of her Corsa.”
TRACKER (part of the Tantalum Corporation) has recently made it more rewarding for dealers to sell TRACKER units. Dealers benefit from the traditional margins, as well as a percentage of the subscription they collect, making it a valuable revenue channel.
Nick Danks continues, “The profit generated by the sale of TRACKER units has been a welcome addition to our existing revenue stream. In March alone we sold over 35 units to new customers. At a time when margins are being squeezed from all directions, selling TRACKER systems has provided us with a great opportunity that has previously been untapped. This vehicle recovery demonstrates the value and benefit of TRACKER to both the customer and dealer.”
David Wilson, Sales Director at TRACKER says, “This case demonstrates the benefits of dealers offering SVR units to their customers. TRACKER’s unique, market-leading SVR technology provides peace of mind for customers who want an added level of security to protect their new pride and joy, and the dealer gains an important revenue stream too.”
Unlike other devices, TRACKER’s unique technology can locate stolen vehicles anywhere, even when they are hidden in a garage or shipping container. TRACKER stolen vehicle recovery systems work like an electronic homing device. A covert transmitter is hidden in one of several dozen places around the vehicle. There is no visible aerial, so the thief won’t even know it’s there.
TRACKER is the only SVR product that is used by all of the UK’s police forces. With 95% of stolen cars fitted with TRACKER returned to their owners and 86% recovered within 24 hours, it could be the difference between a vehicle being found and returned or it being lost for good.
