The Ford Fiesta is the Car of the Year according to telegraph.co.uk, as it is favoured by readers and experts alike.
After months of voting by readers and deliberating by a group of experts, the Fiesta claims the top spot, beating a number of much more expensive rivals. Steve Huntingford, editor of Telegraph Cars, explains why the Fiesta was chosen.
"There is simply no small hatchback that you can buy today that's as enjoyable to drive as the Fiesta," he says. "It feels wonderfully sharp and agile, which is obviously great news on a winding back road. But the Fiesta is also a pleasure on the sort of mundane journeys that most of us do every day, thanks to its beautifully weighted controls, comfortable ride and good visibility."
Some 121,929 Brits bought a Fiesta last year, showing how popular it is with the public too. Moreover, the hatchback also nabbed the award for Best Supermini, pipping Mini to the post.
Bentley's Mulsanne grabbed the 'Best Luxury Car' award, a model that's proved to be extremely popular over the years, reports rac.co.uk. Kevin Rose, Bentley member of the board for sales, marketing and aftersales, says the award is testament to the workforce that work hard to make every single model by hand.
The runner up to the Best Luxury Car prize was another Bentley model - the Continental.
