A caravan "fit for the Queen" has been won by a couple with more than 20 years of caravanning experience.
The Bailey Unicorn Cadiz, which attracted plenty of media attention when Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip visited it last year, was auctioned off by Bailey of Bristol recently.
The highest bidders were Jim and Jean Harle - a married couple who have been caravanning for more than two decades. According to caravantimes.co.uk, they are planning a tour of Scotland in their new purchase this summer.
Bailey of Bristol claim that buyer interest in the caravan had grown significantly since the royal visit in November, so the couple might be advised to invest in a caravan tracking device as an additional security measure. These devices have proved to be useful for stolen vehicle recovery in the past.
Simon Howard, who is a market director for the company, told baileyofbristol.co.uk he was pleased it was sold to a couple who had a notable passion for caravanning.
He said: "It was great to be able to present the keys for this very special caravan to someone who will really appreciate it. We thank Mr and Mrs Harle for their custom and hope that they will get many years enjoyment from their new purchase."
