One of the Audis that features in the hit television series "Ashes to Ashes" has been put on eBay and is expected to fetch more than £20,000.

The bright red 1983 Audi Quattro was one of two cars made to look identical to one another and used in the filming of the BBC series.

The car was even responsible for lead character DCI Gene Hunt's famous catchphrase 'fire up the Quattro'.

The car even features bullet holes from the dramatic season finale in 2010 which have been lacquered by the current owner to prevent rusting and preserve the holes.

This model was bought by the props company for the second and third series of the television show, in which it appeared in 16 episodes all together, westernmorningnews.co.uk reports.

The car is currently going for £14,600 and has two days left on the auctioning site, bt.com reports.

In the description of the listing, the seller of the Quattro says that: "This is a unique opportunity to own one of the most instantly recognisable, iconic cars ever to appear on television. A car that played a massive part in the resurgence of interest in the 80s and so important to the show that the BBC even list it as one of the characters on the Ashes to Ashes website."
