VHF Technology

VHF: Your new secret weapon against vehicle theft

Why VHF is the superior tracking technology when it comes to combating vehicle theft

Tracker implements this unique VHF location technology in all tracking units to address the problem of signal jamming that can affect GPS and GSM only systems. VHF technology also aids the location of concealed vehicles and is effective at finding vehicles even if they are hidden in shipping containers, lock-ups or underground car parks, where GPS only tracking can struggle.

As technology advances, so do criminals

Modern day criminals are far more likely to be computer savvy, allowing them to harness more sophisticated theft techniques to overcome existing vehicle security technology.

In today's climate it is important to protect your vehicle with an effective solution to stop thieves in their tracks.

Modern Day Vehicle Theft

Emerging theft techniques everyone should be aware of when choosing a stolen vehicle recovery solution to protect their vehicle.

'GPS/GSM Jamming'

What is GPS/ GSM Signal Jamming?

The GPS/GSM jammers emit signals at the same frequency as the GPS (Global Positioning System) satellites. This means a tracking device in a lorry with a valuable load, or a car with a GPS stolen vehicle tracking device, which should report its position if stolen, cannot distinguish the correct GPS signal.

By blocking or interfering with the GPS signal, thieves increase their chances of being able to steal the vehicle.

'Relay Attack'

What is a 'Relay Attack'?

A 'Relay attack' is also referred to as a 'Keyless theft'. A device is held by one thief outside your home and it searches and relays a signal from a wireless key fob inside your home. That signal is sent to a second device, held by another thief, near the car itself. The car is tricked into thinking the fob is present, and is then able to both unlock and start the car.

Allowing the thieves to drive off without you knowing, all this in less than 60 seconds!

Four great reasons to choose Tracker products

Vehicles are sometimes 'stolen to order', taken for vehicle parts or simply to resell to unsuspecting buyers. In such an unfortunate event, you want to be sure your tracking system gives you the best chance of getting it back fast.
