Costa Express selects Tracker telematics
Costa Express has invested in TRACKER’s telematics solutions as part of expansion plans. Having initially worked with TRACKER in 2008/9, Costa realised it would need assistance from TRACKER in order to manage the fleet effectively during its expansion from 800 locations to 2,700 as of March 2013. With 60 vehicles currently fitted with TRACKER Fleet, along with a further 10 Battery-powered TRACKER Fleet units used for rental vehicles, TRACKER’s telematics will be harnessed to enhance the efficiency of the Costa Express Fleet nationwide.
Coffee Nation a gourmet coffee vending solution was acquired by the Whitbread group and re-launched as Costa Express in 2011. Costa Express needs to ensure that its engineers are visible, allowing the best placed staff to attend service calls for their machines. TRACKER’s telematics system identifies mobile and stationary vehicles, allowing managers to use engineers more efficiently, rather than just choosing the nearest. The level of data available through TRACKER also helps the business manage the Brand Excellence Advisors, ensuring they meet KPIs and make site visits within the agreed 30 day cycle by monitoring the geographical location of each vehicle.

TRACKER’s cutting edge fleet telematics solutions incorporate unique features, such as patented Transient Voltage Detection technology. This detects electrical noise to more accurately determine when an engine is running and eliminating false ‘idling’ readings, a concern prevalent in many of today’s alternative offerings. It also examines driver performance, a growing trend in fleet monitoring, and boasts a flexible reporting suite that can be customised to meet the specific needs of each of its customers. TRACKER even offers battery powered modules to ensure assets which have no built-in power supply, such as mobile units and trailers, can be monitored.
