Cars, Cops and Criminals
On Thursday 11th March, Cars, Cops and Criminals was shown on BBC1. The programme showed the work that TRACKER and the police are doing to tackle car crime in the UK. The important points for car owners to consider were:
Car theft is a major problem in the UK, often perpetrated by highly organised gangs.
Getting a car back once it is stolen can be very difficult as they are often smuggled out of the country very quickly.
The impact of car theft can be massive: one man featured in the show risked having to sell his house before the police got his car back.
Using TRACKER equipment, the police can find stolen cars even when they are loaded into shipping containers. Only TRACKER’s unique radio-frequency technology can do this.
